To date, MAC has raised over $202 million dollars and works with over 67 organizations internationally to fight AIDS on a global scale.
 
Each year's line is spearheaded by a celebrity endorsed campaign. Past campaigns have been led by RuPaul, K.D. Lang, Mary J. Blige, Lil' Kim, Elton John, Shirley Manson, Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliot, Chloe Sevigny, Linda Evangelista, Boy George, Pamela Anderson, Dita Von Teese, Debbie Harry, Eve and Lisa Marie Presley and Cyndi Lauper. This year, the 2011 campaign features Lady Gaga as their spokesperson and ambassador.
 
So next time you go to buy a tube of lipstick or some lip gloss, buy VIVA Glam! Not only will you look glamourous but every single cent of your purchase will go straight to fighting AIDS and helping the sick. Hailed as one of the most triumphant film debuts since Barbra Streisand in 'Funny Girl', Jennifer Hudson stole the 2006 film 'Dreamgirls' with her portrayal of Effie White. Hudson beat out 782 girls for the role and put on 20 extra pounds to play the part. Bill Condon, her director, instructed Jennifer to show up late to work every day - telling her this would help her to understand Effie's "Diva behavior."
 
For her role in 'Dreamgirls' Jennifer not only won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress but also the Golden Globe, the Screen Actor's Guild Award, the Bafta and the Critic's Choice Award (making her one of only five actresses to have done so). She is also one of only 15 actors in the history of the Oscars to win for a debut performance and the first black actress to win for a debut performance. She also became the youngest black actress to ever win the Oscar (at the age of 25) and has won 29 awards for her performance in Dreamgirls.
 
On March 2007, she appeared on the cover of Vogue, making her the third african american to do so after Oprah Winfrey and Halle Berry. It also made her the first african american singer to ever land the cover of Vogue.
 
In 2008 she won the Grammy for best R&B album. Her musical career continues to flourish under the tutelage of Clive Davis (her mentor) and her deal with Arista Records. Despite enormous personal tragedy played out across the national news, Hudson has continued to survive and persevere. She is widely loved and respected in Hollywood and the music industry.
